Jyoti Amge becomes the world’s shortest woman, JyotiAmge is just 62.8 centimeters tall, 6.2 cm shorter than 22-year old American Bridgette Jordan, who has held the title since September 2011.

Indian student Jyoti Amge is 18 years old and stands just 24.7 inches tall. Amge was conferred the title on Friday as she celebrated her 18th birthday in the city of Nagpur. “It is wonderful to celebrate my 18th birthday with a new world record, it’s like an added birthday present,” said Jyoti Amge.

Dev Anand, the iconic star of Hindi cinema who passed away in London this month, will be given a special tribute by the younger generation of Bollywood at the “57 Idea Filmfare Awards” at Film City in Mumbai on January 29 next year.

Announcing this at an interaction with media here on Friday, the Worldwide Media Chief Executive Officer Tarun Rai said: “ Bollywood actor Dev Anand was a stalwart who entertained fans for decades. We are still working on those lines, but how we will do it (homage) cannot be revealed now.”

Pointing out that Filmfare announces awards posthumously for those who made unparalleled contribution to the Indian cinema, Mr. Rai said the next award ceremony will be a memorable one as the 2,500th black lady will be given to a special person. “It is a testament to our long association with Indian cinema. The first black lady went to ‘Do Bhiga Zameen’… The Hindi film industry is celebrating its centenary and Filmfare is celebrating its 60 years.”

Bollywood’s latest heartthrob Imran Khan, who has twice hosted the award night along with Ranbir Kapoor, did not say how the younger generation would pay tribute to the legendary star who entertained millions for over four decades. “The first time I hosted the award ceremony I was only six months old in the industry. I was pretty scared because earlier Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan used to host it in a witty manner. It pushed me to work hard.”

Imran works behind the stage with writers for at least a month for the award ceremony. Dropping hints that Vidya Balan, whose emboldened avatar in “Dirty Picture” won her rave reviews from critics and fans, was in contention for an award, Imran said his friends thoroughly enjoyed her performance and if the buzz was correct then the actor would walk away with the black lady.

A memorial service will be held at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai on Friday for legendary actor, producer and director Dev Anand. The star passed away in London on December 3.

Later, he was cremated in London’s Putney Vale cemetery on 10 December. The actor’s son, Suneil Anand arrived in India on Wednesday and went to Nashik to immerse Dev Anand’s ashes in the Godavari River.

Suniel Anand revealed that his father classic film, ‘Guide’ would soon be released in technicolour. Speaking to a daily, Suneil said, “An American company has restored Guide. It’s being converted to wide screen and we will do a fresh soundtrack, maybe in the Czech Republic (where full scale orchestras are available to undertake such challenges at reasonable cost).”"It’s a big, big responsibility, the world is watching me, I will have to live up to their expectations,” said Suneil Anand.

International Pop star Lady Gaga has topped the Top Earning Women in Music List of 2011 beating the likes of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.

Lady Gaga has been named the highest-earning female music artist of 2011.Pop singer Lady Gaga earned $90 million which is more than double any other female pop star earned over the past 12 months.

Singer Taylor Swift was on second position with $45 million, while Katy Perry grabbed third position with $44 million. Beyonce Knowles and Rihanna rounded off the top five with $35 million and $29 million, respectively, according to Forbes.com survey.

Lady Gaga’s earnings were mainly due to her “Monster Ball” tour, which grossed $1.3 million a night as well as many endorsement deals.
